Our story​
We bought this property in 2021 — a run-down dairy farm that had been over-sprayed, overworked and over-watered for decades. Our first year, the crops failed outright. The soil was dead.​
We needed something that could bring it back to life, so we turned to chickens — moving them across the land in rotation, and letting them do the work.
It hasn't been easy. It flooded that year. It flooded again the year after. Then a drought hit so hard we had to buy in feed for the cattle. Then bird flu broke out elsewhere in the state and we couldn't get pullets for months.
Despite all of it, we kept going. Today we're seeing the benefits: living, functional soil, chickens on fresh grass being chickens — not egg factories — and grass, vegetables and other livestock being raised in a way that doesn't hurt your eyes.

Who's behind it​
I run the farm day-to-day. Until December 2025, my father was heavily involved, but he's had to step back for medical reasons. My uncle Rob also works the farm, and has been instrumental in our horticulture and revegetation plans

That's our guiding principle — less hens, more grass.
We don't use herbicides, pesticides or commercial fertilisers. Instead, we use animals to break seed cycles, let 'weeds' fix soil problems, and treat the soil like the living resource it is — not a hydroponic growing medium.
We want to produce amazing, chemical-free food at prices that are genuinely reasonable, without the middlemen who push prices up along the way.
 
People supporting people
Beyond the farm itself, we want to create spaces for our community to gather and share — and to give back to that community as best we can. We think people supporting people is just as important as good soil and good food, and it's a big part of why we built Community Egg Partners.
